Dinesh Singh
Dinesh Singh, an alumnus of the National Law School of India University, Bangalore, Karnataka, India has around 30 years of experience having worked with leading law firms in India, prior to co-founding Altum Law. Dinesh’s core area of specialisation is Aviation, Asset and Project Finance with special emphasis on Aircraft Financing, Mergers and Acquisitions, Joint Ventures and Foreign Collaborations.
Among others strategic projects, Dinesh has acted for Power Finance Corporation Limited in relation to the financial assistance by Power Finance Corporation to various power projects across India. He has advised Genting Corporation in connection with acquisition of a stake in a power plant in Tamil Nadu and Invensys Plc., in connection with worldwide sale of one of its division and has advised the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi in connection with restructuring of Delhi Transport Corporation. He has also acted for Global Payments Inc., in connection with the setting up of ‘merchant acquiring business’ in India and was involved with the merger of Amex and ABN Amro Bank in relation to sale of retail banking services of Amex. He has also assisted Hollister Incorporated in establishing its manufacturing operations in India and regularly advises and assists European companies on their businesses in India.
Dinesh has been advising national scheduled airline companies in India and has worked on more than four dozen cross-border aircraft financing transactions relating to lease of business jets and helicopters to Indian industrial houses, non-scheduled operators, charter companies and regional airline companies in India. His aviation work entails advising clients on structuring India centric transaction and repossession of aircraft. Dinesh regularly advisesTextron Financial, Cessna Finance Company, Bell Helicopters, Bell Helicopter Finance Group, Cessna Aircraft Company, ITC Leasing and Bravia Capital, etc. on aircraft financing, repossession and their businesses in India.
Dinesh regularly contributes to various publications and has published several paper/articles on different areas of law, including Corporate Laws, Competition Law, Information Technology and Cyber Laws and Property Laws in legal journals, magazines, and newspapers including the Economic Times and the Financial Express.
Dinesh was invited and is part of Indian National Contact Group, established by the Aviation Working Group relating to the Cape Town Convention in recognition of his expertise in the aviation industry.
Dinesh is a member of Bar Council of Delhi and former National Representative of India for International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA) and exclusive recommended aviation lawyer in India for International Referral.
